Amit captures all Odisha Open chess title

Local competitor Amit Mohanty emerged champion in the 12th All-Odisha Open Chess Tournament, which was organised by Odisha Secretariat Recreation Club (OSRC) at here at the club premises on March 11 and 12, 2017. He won all his nine games to take home the top prize of Rs 5,000.

The two-day tournament carried a total prize fund of Rs 35,000. Prabhat Kumar Ojha finished runner-up with 7.5 points. GA Department Additional Director (Estates Ganeswar Jena graced the prize-distribution function as chief guest. Finance Department Joint Secretary Rupa Narayan Das, OSRC General Secretary Managovinda Dalai and chief arbiter Debasis Panigrahi were present on the occasion.
